Updated June 2026 — prices reviewed quarterly

Aluminum picket railings cost from $85 per linear foot installed in Toronto and the East GTA in 2026 — the most affordable of our three systems. Every estimate also includes a $250 base price. A 40-foot deck run calculates around $3,285–$4,015 installed before any old railing removal. These are published rates, not averages scraped from the internet.

What moves an aluminum quote

Layout is the big one — raked stair rails, extra landings, and more posts take fabrication and install time. Removal and disposal of old iron or wood adds $5/ft. Anchoring conditions matter too: sound concrete is quick, crumbling concrete around rusted old posts needs prep, and stone caps need care. Decorative picket patterns (spindles, circles) add modestly over straight pickets.

Aluminum railing cost questions

Is $85/ft really the installed price?

Yes — measure, fabrication, powder-coated aluminum posts, rails and pickets, anchors, and installation. Every estimate also includes the base visit price, and removal or site conditions move it from there.

Why do small porch jobs cost more per foot?

The $250 base price covers the fixed parts of showing up, measuring, fabrication setup, travel, and anchoring. Short runs still need that work, so the per-foot average is higher than on a long deck.

How does aluminum compare with wood on cost?

Wood is cheaper on day one and more expensive every year after — staining, fastener tightening, and eventual rot. Aluminum's powder coat needs nothing. Over ten years, aluminum usually wins on total cost. We don't install wood railings.

What about wrought iron repair instead of replacing?

Welding and repainting rusted iron buys a few seasons at most, because corrosion restarts at the anchor points. Replacement with aluminum is usually the better spend — and we'll say so honestly if your iron still has life in it.
